David Roberts would like to row this session please, he is away for 3 days with no Wifi access and asked me to add his name as soon as this thread came up.
Hi folks, I have just scheduled rowing and Bob H is running the sessions tomorrow morning with the list I have given him. If any rowers from the sessions tomorrow morning can lend a hand at the festival before or after their row please head over to the recreation ground and find our stand. Sophie, can you confirm who will be arriving first to set up our stand at the festival ground? I have put Gary in the first session tomorrow at 9am and you on the second session at 10:00am, in case you are both going between the showground and rowing. I have put Phil on the 10am session so we may need a time machine for some of these activities. π
Hi Sophie,
Looks like it would be better to swap my shift to Sunday AM, instead of doing Saturday as you have plenty of people that day. Do you know if they have space to fit Rodney Bey on either or both days. I can collect drop Rodney down there on Sunday AM and take it back in the evening that day, if we need it.
It’s a yes from me. Happy to row and cox.
I am available to row and cox.
I am available to Row and Cox at this one.
I am looking for 1 rower for Tomorrow (Saturday 7th morning) scheduled session. On the booking system we have enough almost for 2 rows but are short of 1 rower for the second session at approx 10am. If anyone wants to fill that seat, put your name down here please. (1 person only please). This will stop some one having to row twice to make up 2 sessions. Rowing will still go ahead regardless but just trying to make it easier for all on the day.

I am ok to stick with Saturday as I reckon 9pm Sunday night be getting a bit late to eat. Happy to go with majority though, if more peeps wanna do Sunday I will prob get food at our flat Sunday pm quickly and then get back out as quick as possible to the pub. Thanks Matt.
That sounds good still Matt. Still keen to come to meal on Saturday as the pubs will be rammed. Worth picking up some extra food thru Sunday at the tunnel in case pubs too busy for food Sunday pm. Fuel for the madness that is Sunday night!
Myself and Carrie would like to join ou for this meal. Sounds great, thanks Matt. We would want to eat all of it. Jacket potato, beans, cheese and nachos (and beer for Ben). Good plan. See you all Friday!!

Extra session planned for 10:30am on Sunday 17th April to get Rodney Bey back on the water.
This would be a good opportunity for Scilly’s crew rowers to get some extra training and see how Rodney is holding up. I will have the capacity to run up to 2 sessions as have things on in the afternoon. Put your names below and I will confirm on Saturday by 5pm whether this session will go ahead. Will need rowers to meet at our usual meeting place to get the trolleys, then bring them over to Belshers Slipway to get Rodney off the trailer. The Gig and oars are travelling to Isles of Scilly next Friday 22nd April.
Did anyone get a good photo or 2 of Avocet and the Visiting gig from Burnham on Sea last saturday? (their Gig was called Jayne Campbell)… if so can you send it to me at ben-atkinson@live.co.uk
cheers

Timetable has shifted slightly earlier now for Exe Raid, to take into account tides etc. They are now as follows:
0800hrs Registration opens situated at boathouse (Les Norcliffe)
0830hrs Briefing Power Point Presentation in Clubroom
0900hrs Launching commences.
1. Ladies 8k 0900 approx
2. Menβs 8k 1000 approx
3. Super Vets 4k 1100 approx
4. Mixed 4k 1145 approx
This will mean a timely wrapping up of normal rowing sessions on Saturday morning (i.e shorter sessions), before rowing down to the seafront at 11.30 to be ready for race time. If you are not rowing in the normal sessions from 9am, racers please meet at our usual rowing spot where the boat is stored by 11:15 at the latest. Carrie is going to Cox our racers, I will be coxing the Burnham Crew at their request. Ben
Hi Folks,
Thanks for putting your names down for the Exe Raid Event. Burnham Gig Club have confirmed they are entering only the 4km mixed event, so I therefore propose we enter just that division as it looks to be the best fit for our crew available and gives us a Gig to race against. I am going to have to go with the following crew names, simply down to First come, first served and the fact we need a minimum of 2 ladies to make it a ‘Mixed Crew’:
Cox: Ben
6 George
5 Matt
4 Greg
3 Nic
2 Bob
1 Shirley
Please keep your eye on this thread towards the end of the week, as the long term weather forecast is not looking too promising for Saturday (but that could all change of course!). David C, could you be on stand-by as first reserve?
Regards
Ben
