Teign would like to invite you to our 2015 Gig Regatta to be held at Teign Corinthian Yacht Club (TQ14 8TA) on Saturday 18 July 2015.
Gigs will be unloaded as usual from Gales Hill (TQ14 8ES). The towing vehicles and trailer will then be directed by marshalls to the beach front road – TQ14 8BB, which is blocked off to the general public, where they can be left for the day. General car parking will be signposted but the nearest car park is Eastcliff car park (TQ14 8PH).
Gigs should arrive between 9.30 and 11.00.
Navigational support through the harbour and river mouth will be available.
Registration will be at the Yacht Club, and will close at 11.30.
Coxes meeting will be held at 12.00 at the Yacht club, with racing starting promptly at 12.30.
We would be very grateful if clubs could assign umpires to assist us with marshalling on the day.
The Race Order will be: Ladies B, Ladies C, Ladies A, Junior U16, Men’s B, Men’s C, Men’s A, Ladies Vets and Men’s Vets.
The presentation will be at the Yacht Club after the last race.
Refreshments will be available from the Yacht Club, with a bar open from approximately 2pm until 5.30pm.
In case anyone missed the email this morning, I am afraid we are going to have to pull out of this one due to low numbers, in favour of a normal rowing session on Saturday. Book via the usual online system.

Brixham – Sat 22nd Aug
Sidmouth – Sun 30th Aug
All will appear as message board threads for people to put their names down for.
Watch this space David. If there are not enough people to form crews for the regatta we will hold normal rowing sessions. Decision will be made by Thurs morning as we would like there to be 3full crews to make it worth attending the regatta. Cheers.

Hi all, I have enquired with Cattewater about a schedule for the day of racing. When they come back to me I will put it on the message board. Cheers. Ben

We need a few more members to come forward for this to make it worth towing the boat down there.
Will put together crews based on the names on the message board, from Wednesday morning. If there are a few gaps I will go out to other clubs to see if they can fill them.

Registration will be on the mound by the slipway – each club please pay a launch fee of £18.00 directly to the Harbour Master.
Coxes meeting will as before be at 10am, first race will be at 10.30am.
Refreshments hot and cold will be available in the Salthouse from 07.30am.
Right: So far we have 13 rowers attending Bridport. Thanks to all those who have responded. We have at least enough rowers to race in the following:

We borrowed rowers from other clubs at Swanage to fill the gaps in the other races, so we then ended up entering a Ladies Vets and Men’s C too. Everyone will get to race at least once, but we will try and enter as many races as we can if people are up for it. Would be good to have a few more Exmouth Ladies Vets come forward before I start asking other clubs to fill any gaps. Ben
The First race starts at 10.30am, so would suggest arriving by 9.30 at the latest to allow plenty of time to help get the gig afloat and set up camp on the pier. The 1st car park on your left as you come into West Bay is both cheap and a short walk from the action. The pier and launch slipway are on the West side of the harbour: Postcode DT6 4GZ
No idea I am afraid. I will have same dilemma once gig is dropped off. Park where you can considerately. May require a short walk as with most regatta. See you there. Ben
Thanks for putting your names down. Deadline for responding is 10am tomorrow, so if you are thinking about coming along, get in there quickly.
We have a few Sidmouth members on standby, who could row for Exmouth if we need to make up numbers.
Just as a heads up and for planning sake, the next Regatta is Sunday 21st at Bridport and we are attending. BUT please don’t reply about that one yet on here (just put it in the diary and we will send out an official email and thread shortly)
