I think that’s a good shout if the weather is bad (which i am afraid is looking likely at the moment). Good idea walking/cycling/train ride there instead if the weather bad.
Fitness session at 6pm, Sea Cadets building, Tuesday 31st Jan. This is available to ALL members with an emphasis on fun regardless of fitness and experience. We do have to operate a first come first served system however due to time constraints and safety.
We can now have up to 16 in one class, so we plan to run just 1 class. It will be 25mins of circuit training followed by 15 of stretching and cool down. Names below please. £1 per person.
Fish finger sandwich and side of sweet potato fries please.
Sirloin Steak and chips for Carrie please.
Note to any Vets crew rowers: (from CPGA, a reminder on Ferry arrival times on Friday 28th April)
‘SCILLIES PASSENGERS
Please make sure that any of your vets rowing on the Friday night realise that the Scillonian, although sailing twice on the Friday is sailing later than normal due to the tides and so they need to be on the early sailing at a time of 8.00am this year. If they book the later crossing it actually doesn’t arrive in St Mary’s until 18.00.’

Cheers all. See you Weds. If any more want to come along on the day, feel free but it’s first come first served, capacity 12 per session for safety reasons. Bring a quid please. B
The session will start at 6pm and by the looks of the numbers we have enough for 2 x half hour sessions, including warm up and cool down. If the first 12 people to put their names down come down for 6pm, then the remainder come down in time for a swift changeover by 6.30pm that would work. If you have a fitness mat/yoga Mat bring it along for any floor exercises.
Hi Sophie. Yes I am keen as discussed and will Cox one or both ways. Booked a table at the Lighter for 12midday (that’s when they start serving food). We can let the pub know exact numbers closer to the day. We can always have a drink while we wait for food service to start.
Hi Polly, No not too late. I think how it will work on these sessions is we run 2 back to back sessions, then any overspill/extra last minute people can group together and go for a Jog/run/outside session. It would act as a good meeting point for all to kick of an evening of fitness. Those who use the indoor session just need to bring a pound (and a towel!)
Hi all, Quick update, the Sea Cadets have double booked that night so we are moving the first fitness session to the following day (weds 25th January) but after that we can start to do a consistent session every other Tuesday night. Should be a good way to see how people are getting on with their fitness and get ideas and support from each other.
First of all thank you to everyone that has been involved in the
training sessions that have been organised and run in the 2-3 months
before Christmas. The sub committee met on Tuesday and have proposed the
following crews to represent Exmouth Gig Club at this year IOS World
Championship in May.

Great response from so many of you already, thank-you! Good on ya.
I think we could do 2x back to back sessions of 30 mins each (including warm up and cool down). Good idea Kathy, if we have a few too many subscribed, would be great to see a few head down the beach for a night run/jog/fast walk whatever you can fit in, meet at the Sea Cadets and go from there.
Carrie, Remy and I will be there! Looking forward to it and Merry Christmas! 🙂
In case anyone hasn’t spotted it, ferry tickets are on sale now for travel to the championships. If you hold out until around early December you can get discounted tickets when the gig transport is booked. (Albeit only small discount, so to be sure, get your tickets soon in order to get your chosen journey).
Sounds good George. I can lend out my Go Pro camera for some more filming of winter training session too if it helps. Watch this space also for a Xmas social drink..
