Sorry it’s taken so long. We are aware that new members want kit and it’s an important part of of being part of the crew so we are pushing hard. Please bear in mind that there have been issues with stock levels but we are nearly there.

“The activities outlined in each proposal are based upon the acceptance of BOTH proposals by the membership.” – does this mean that its not an either / or situation? In which case there is no option to go with just Option 1 (my favoured). This simply means the CPGA who originally wanted £30 per head will do so via £5 coming from the club and £25 from the individual.

Option 1 will currently cost the club £10 more than it currently does which isn’t exactly bank breaking but this will rise as members return. That cash has got to come from somewhere. Those that want to race will see a 25% increase in their costs to row. The new proposal does take into account that those that only wish to social row shouldn’t be hit with membership fees but it doesn’t address the significant uplift in costs for those that do wish to race.

I’m in favour of the CPGA becoming more professional but that does mean they will need to become equally accountable. No more copying and pasting British Rowing’s guidance which doesn’t take into account the boats we actually use….
