Yes it’s a race, so if you’re expecting something like the social rows to Topsham but on a different river it will be a shock! Obviously it needs to be paced sensibly but will require solid effort from all rowers. All crews that took part from Exmouth last year took well over an hour. It’s a serious test of endurance so not to be taken on lightly but a great opportunity to see how you stack up against other crews and give you an idea of what is required to perform well together for a sustained period.
I think anyone who wants to race regularly over the coming season should want to give it a go. However, if your focus is the more social side of gig rowing, it might not be for you.
I’m game.
Yeah reckon I’ll be there. Probably taking the day off to get over the hangover from the work do….
All done David.
I’ll be there.
Bodies to help launch at 9am would be appreciated. All signed up racers are part of the shore crew for the intro sessions that will run 9am-10am. Racing to start soon after.
Available.
Hi Keith, most crews will have a reserve so if you arrange to row in the first race / two races you can escape whenever you need to and someone can fill in.
Any more drop outs please let us know ASAP. Draft crews have already been put together.
Yep.
I’m available.
Would someone be able to give an extremely jet-lagged George a lift to Paignton… whenever that is?
Yeah, I dropped the ball on that one, sorry. Last minute changes now at the start of the thread.
Give it hell everyone! I look forward to hearing about it.
I’ve added provisional Vets crews to the beginning of the thread.
Provisional crews are now visible at the start of this thread.
