I’m a potential if I can get a lift to the big smoke from another keen bean attending Weymouth…?

Thanks for the enthusiastic response to race at our first home regatta. Of course a gig only has 6 seats, we will only be using one and we won’t be running C races due to time constraints. This means we will probably have to disappoint some of you but as you already know there will be plenty to keep us busy on the shore. Provisional crews will be put up in the next couple of weeks.

The good news is Langstone regatta the following week is currently severely undersubscribed and we have potentially eight crews to fill, so if you’re desperate to get in a boat get your name down. We’ll also just be able to focus on the rowing… and a beer afterwards.

They’re all listed in seat order (6-1). Would be great to get a mixed out but it’s a bit hit and miss whether it’ll happen so we’ll worry about that on the day.

Provisional crews are now up. Seven (yes, seven) very solid crews, I expect much. Now get training!

Unless there’s an overwhelming consensus we’re unlikely to do anything with the racing oars before Scilly. For good or bad people are more used to bare wood at the moment so we don’t want people to get to the start line and have to adapt to something new.
It is something we’re looking at for the rest of the season though, so I’d encourage everyone to have a look at the intro oars that have been done so far and let us know what they think via the feedback page.

Crews have been updated and hopefully represent the final plan for Scilly. Get back to me with any issues… and look after yourselves!

Sorry everybody but we’re going to knock this one on the head. We’ve barely two crews so thought it would be a better use of our time and effort to have a weekend at home. Hopefully this means more people will get to row over the weekend of the 31st March so please take the opportunity to organise extra sessions, book onto regular sessions and let us know if you’d like an opportunity on the ropes.
