Information for the day:
Gig launching will take place from the slipway in the harbour at Lyme Regis.
Lyme Regis has restricted access coming through the centre – especially for towing vehicles; so the suggested route to the harbour is via Hunters Lodge (A35) and the Uplyme Road or from the west via the Sidmouth Road.
Cheapest car parking is Charmouth Road car park (on the east side of town) or Holmbush car park (at the top of Cobb Hill, the road down to the harbour); both £2 for the day; Holmbush Car Park will certainly be the best option for towing vehicles.
Please take gigs down Cobb Hill to the harbour slipway where Lyme Regis Club members will be on hand to help unload and launch your gigs. Please ensure that you have club members to help. There will be a £10 launching fee for all clubs including those borrowing boats – please pay this at registration.
Refreshments will be available all day – with bacon baps from 8am and our famous mackerel rolls (dependant on fishermen delivering!) later in the day. Please encourage your club members to be ‘green’ and to bring their own water bottle and/or re-usable drink cups (we plan to do a discount for those using their own cups). There is a tap behind the food tent where water bottles can be refilled for free plus many of the local businesses in Lyme will do likewise. This year, we will not be selling bottled water.
CPGA rules will apply,
umpires-code-of-conduct.pdfb.com/media/pg/466/1556369507/cpga-racing-rules.pdf;please ensure that your cox wears a lifejacket and the boat carries a VHF radio; all incidents/accidents will be subject to “umpires” decision on the day. Some boats will be using the pontoon during the day, please ensure all members of your team are aware of the need to take care at change over, especially when carrying oars. If you wish to change oars it may be worth considering using the beach for change over. Please also bring fenders and long bow and stern ropes as we will be mooring boats on the pontoons.

Please could you provide an experienced umpire or two? Please let us know their names and which races they might be available for. Please ensure that all umpires are familiar with the Umpires code of conduct http://www.lymeregisgigcluhttp://www.lymeregisgigclub.com/media/pg/466/1556369430/ and the CPGA racing rules (see above).
If you haven’t already done so, please could you let me know the name of the boat you are bringing and which races you intend to enter.
Please note that it is Carnival in Lyme Regis on the evening of the 10th August – this will be a great spectacle to watch. This will mean that the road at the top of Cobb Hill will be closed between 8pm and 9.30pm
