  River Fowey Gig Club
  Maurice Hunkin Birthday Regatta
  Saturday 8th February 2025

  Gigs have an arrival “time slot” ours is 10:00. We will need enough people in attendance to launch and row to the pontoon. Thank you to Martin for towing. Please proceed to Caffa Mill car park  – Following signs to “Bodinnick Ferry” (Do not go through Fowey town – you will not fit!!!).
  RFGC will store your trailers – Trailers will be available following the final race.

  Gig racing will start at 12:00 – Races will start & finish at Berrills Yard (Lifeboat station) – Tea & coffee will be available to keep out the cold! – Fowey Gallants sailing club will be open providing food drink & an excellent viewing platform.

  The Race order is:
  Ladies
  Mens
  Mixed
  Vets mens
  Vets Ladies

  Please note that they are running the racing in 2 Heats per category(without a final) probably due to space. We are in Heat 2 in all of our races.

  No mention of the Coxes meeting yet, but they have done one in the past.
  Rules on the day:
  There will be a Two minute flag raised, & the starter can start
  the race at any time during the 2 minutes.
  Coxes will be told when they are over the line – it is their responsibility to be behind the line when the flag is dropped. Any gig over the line at the start of the race will be disqualified.
  There will be no berths – There will be two heats – the second heat will start approx 2 mins after the first heat.
  Gigs will always remain outside of the designated mooring areas.
  CPGA rules apply in all other circumstances.
  Course:
  Two mark anticlockwise course – distance to be confirmed on the day.
