We are missing seeing all our rowing buddies so in lieu of being able to meet up for club rowing and training on the water, we thought it would be a great time to learn a bit more about this sport we love!
We would like to invite you to join us on Thursday 6th August at 8pm to 9pm to listen to some rowing chat and have a chance to ask questions followed by a general chit chat… GnT or a beer encouraged!
This first session will revolve around COXING. One of the most crucial aspects of our sport. We will have 3-4 coxes talking about various aspects of being a coxswain, from training as a cox to training new rowers to coxing in the estuary and race coxing.
So if there is anything you would like to know (like what all those words they shout at us mean?!?) please sign up and leave a question.
The link will be sent to those that sign up on the message board next Thursday by 8pm.

What are the good, bad and ugly aspects of coxing at Exmouth?

    Yes please!

Can I put a question to both Carrie and Sophie?

Exmouth has some of the most complex tidal flows in the UK to deal with + Hundreds of moorings, some of which are submerged + dealing with both steering via the rudder and via rowers = a huge amount to predict and react to. How does a cox deal with all of this going on?

…plus the rowers will want a structured session!

It’s pretty daunting for novice coxes wanting to learn. Mistakes are costly and dangerous!

Yes please, hopefully be able to log in.

If everything else is equal which do you prefer, coxing or rowing?
