    EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST WANTED

    Exmouth Gig Club
    MONSTER THE LOCH
    26th September 2020
    Loch Ness

Monster the Loch is an annual mass participation human-powered boat race on Loch Ness.

Exmouth Gig Club would like to enter a team in 2020

The Loch is 21 miles long, 1 mile wide and who knows how deep!!
This year, 52 boats participated. ‘Little Picket’ (Sidmouth) recorded a time of 3hrs 43mins.

Costs will have to be borne by participants.
    APPROXIMATE COSTS are as follows:
    Entry Fee per rower £50
Travel: EasyJet (Bristol – Inverness return) £80 approx.
    Road Mileage: 1,200
Accommodation (AirBnB) – £50 pp per night + food costs
    Boat towage: £60 – £65 pp

If time is tight – then it is possible to fly up from Bristol on the Friday, row Saturday & fly back on Sunday.
Alternatively, why not make a holiday of the event and spend time Scotland, taking on the row as part of a longer stay?

Before we submit our entry, we need to recruit rowers & coxes.
We will hold a meeting in January with anyone who is interested in participating in this event.

If you wish to declare your interest (without obligation at this stage), please sign up on the thread below and we will be in touch with the date of our January meeting.

Definitely interested. Would be something to aim for although I don’t know how my fitness will be by Sept.
