MONTHLY FIGURES – RETURN TO ROWING
We are all aware that the current situation has implications on our sport. Whilst some clubs have returned to rowing, some were waiting to see what September brought, others are still undecided and or not returning to the water until 2021.
Currently, we need to be able to access data to show the effect or not on our sport. So, we are asking ALL clubs to complete a simple survey once a month. It will be opened for the first week of each month.
This needs to be completed only once by an official of the club. Please complete using the following link – Quick Survey
- Has your club been rowing since the 1st of the month?
- How many crews / bubbles are rowing?
- Who are rowing: Men / Women / Juniors?
From the 24th September, clubs are also required to display an official NHS QR code to support NHS Test and Trace. Leisure and Tourism – Clubs providing team sporting activities. You do need to have the code even if it is people accessing the club / shed / container to work on the gigs make use of equipment.
You can create your own Club NHS QR code using the link. PLEASE NOTE this is in addition to your club’s own track and trace, not instead of.
Some clubs have now decided that they are suspending rowing for various reasons. This is entirely the decision of the clubs and although it might not be something that an individual member wants, it has been done with the best of intentions and therefore please support your committee at a difficult time.
All clubs need to ensure that they have procedures in place should a member test positive for Covid who has been actively rowing / interacting with the club membership. In the event of this, what are the steps that would be taken and how are you going to ensure that the necessary members / community know?
The Covid advice / guidance can be found on the CPGA Website Covid page.
IOS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021
Our (WPGCC) cautious optimism of a month ago has evaporated in the light of the current deteriorating situation with regard to Covid-19. There is nothing on the horizon which gives us reasonable confidence that the championships can go ahead next year.
Therefore, it is with great regret that we have decided to cancel WPGC2021.
We have chosen to announce this now rather than leave a decision until the end of the year (as originally planned) because many competitors and spectators are about to make a financial commitment to secure accommodation and travel arrangements (if they haven’t already done so).
This has not been an easy decision. We love the Champs. It is wonderful to see the crews from all over the country and abroad having a great time and we know that you love coming here.
To miss one year is bad enough. To miss two… well, we will stay positive and plan to pick up the pieces when we can. We wish you health and happiness and hope to see you again one day.
Thanks to those who have submitted dates for 2021. Deadline has passed but just in case, send asap.
We currently have no idea what next year will hold regarding regattas, but we need to prepare.
Simply send to email@example.com

Thanks to all those who have submitted rowing registers, please if you haven’t can you submit asap rather than a list appearing on here!
We are all aware that there was no rowing from the 16th March until the 29th August.
We are therefore not requiring a June register, but if you are back on the water by the 30th September, please submit your rowing register.
